Why not give it a try in Az this spring? If he can be effective, he is better than any FA pickup. Keep one of your own and more roster maneuverability. Hell stick Vernon over there and make room for Trout.

I am glad you brought up all the road blocks for their young players. With Morales, Trumbo, Wells, Abreau, Hunter, Borjous and Trout all vying for 5 spots, moving Borjous and Morales/Trumbo makes sense. As a Rays fan, I’d like to see them get in on that bidding. What would it take for the Angels to move Borjous and one of the 1st baseman. Morales only has 1 year of team contol left, and has missed 2 years in a row, so I doubt he has much value. Would Wade Davis and a mid level prospect get both Boujos and Morales? If not, what would it take?

He is not a third baseman and I couldnt see him playing 50 games there. But most fantasy baseball ppl will be very very happy if he gets 5 games there.
