Any chance they try him at 2nd and have Infante man the hot corner? Seems most of the talk places Hanley at 3rd or a chance he moves to the OF. Playing him at 2nd keeps him as part of a double play combo and cuts down his distance on throws to first.

Slobbering Ozzie is going to have a beegger problem than that. Eventually, even that incoherent clown is going to realize that while he waits for his new suzerains to land heem a weener, they’re going Feeshing with unbaited hooks. If Joe Girardi got canned for being contemptuous of his boss, there are pretty good odds that he was contemptuous for a reason.

What’s going on here should be obvious to everyone . . .

The Marlins are tired of HanRam and want to trade him. Except you can’t trade your best player when you are opening a new stadium with a name/uniform change.

So, if you are Jeffrey Lauria and Larry Beinfest how do you resolve this quandary?

Well, they replace him with the Met’s superstar SS, who was being hailed as the best player in baseball before being derailed by an injury.

Lauria and Beinfest know that being forced from SS will piss HanRam off, shifting negative publicity onto his shoulders and giving the Marlins the excuse they need to deal Ramirez.

If the Marlins do indeed sign Reyes, you can take it to the bank . . . the Marlins will trade HanRam before Opening Day.

Something tells me Ozzie isn’t going to have a problem with this. He’s all about respect, so if Hanley continues to be a selfish pain, the fireworks are going to fly. My bet is Ozzie has no problem torching the ‘Face of the Franchise’ publicly. Other managers might handle him with kid-gloves, but it will be a cold day in hell when Ozzie lets players/owners walk all over him without saying something.

I’d say he’s definitely better than J-Roll but thats only when he’s trying. The guy doesn’t try and I don’t think being in Philly would necessarily insure that. Defensively they’re probably on par (although with work Ramirez could get better) and offensively Ramirez definitely has the upside. I just don’t see any feasible way the Phillies can make an offer sweet enough to lure the Marlins

His struggles last year were related to a bad back, but I don’t think there was indication that it was chronic. Provided that’s healed, yes, he’s about a billion times better than Jimmy Rollins.
