Interesting the Cubs don’t want him and he could lead the team who drafted him in two years instead of the team he played as a Hall of Fame second baseman. This kind of reminds me how the Yankees chose experience with Joe Girardi over fan favorite Don Mattingly who is now earning his stripes with the Dodgers. This doesn’t mean one day either coach won’t return to the their respective teams either, but with experience Sandberg could be a great candidate for the Cubs 5 plus year from now as will Mattingly after the Yankees eventually sour on Girardi similar to how they did to Joe Torre.

True. but right now that doesn’t say much. Their best 2 players might not crack the lineup. Who would that be? Wandy and Bourjeois (or whatever his name is)? Meh.

2012 in Triple A, 2013 as bench coach for the Phillies, and 2014 manager.

I just Hope Ruben doesn’t trade him next year at the deadline… “Ok Ed, we’ve run out of good farm players, we’ve pretty much shipped all of our talent to you in the last three years… but I’ve got one card left to play… I have an excellente HoF player managing my AAA team…”
