Wilson Ramos made a brief appearance back at Nationals Park today, meeting with GM Mike Rizzo and undergoing a physical exam.  Ben Goessling has the story here.  Ramos’ statement:

“I just want to say, ‘Thanks, Nats fans, for your prayers and your support,’ ” Ramos said. “I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to be with my family, and see you in spring training.”

He’s heading right back down to Venezuela to finish his winter league season, but the Nats needed to see him in person. Understandable.  Still crazy that all of that happened.

Just in case Wilson reads HBT (& if he doesn’t, he should), let me just say that even divisional rivals of the Nats were rooting (the sporting equivalent to prayer) for him, too, not just Nat’s fans. Now watch your back when you get that plane, Wilson. Not everybody’s an ‘effin amateur.

    Just glad he’s alright.

Just as long as someone took the time to explain to him that its his own fault for permitting himself to be born in a third world cesspool where kidnapping is a normal career and women are pinatas, instead of the Mutha-F’in-USA where everything is super awesome.

Ok, done channeling a certain someone…

‘flex, I don’t usually engage in puerile ‘thumbing’, but let me be the first to give you a +thumb for good use of irony and/or sarcasm (I have difficulty telling them apart. Its a cultural thing: if you’re old enough to have lived through the Trudeau, administration your irony detector will be glitchy) the majority of which the – thumb crowd will have missed. Comments like this will be greatly facilitated by an irony/sarcasm font.

IMO No day on HBT is complete without a hat tip of some sort to unswerving, blind Americana and a good rant. It’s like Cartman really did take his ball & bat and go home. If they ever kill off Cartman on South Park, the show will be poorer for it, just as HBT comments are just a tad more flavorless without HB.

      Well played, sir.

Speaking of HB, is he in self-imposed exile, or Craig-imposed exile?

    • natstowngreg - Nov 18, 2011 at 6:50 PM

Craig said HB asked to be exiled.

You’re welcome, Wilson. Glad things are OK.
