C.J. Wilson to visit the Marlins in Miami after Thanksgiving

Nov 22, 2011, 11:19 AM EDT

Texas Rangers starting pitcher C.J. Wilson faces the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1st inning of Game 1 of MLB's World Series baseball championship in St. Louis

C.J. Wilson dined last night with Angels manager Mike Scioscia and general manager Jerry Dipoto, and Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports that the free agent left-hander’s next meeting with come with the Marlins after Thanksgiving.

According to Spencer the two sides initially spoke at the general manager meetings in Milwaukee last week and Wilson is expected to be in Miami for a follow-up visit.

It could mean nothing, of course, because Wilson has no shortage of suitors and as Spencer writes the Marlins “seem to be throwing out the welcome mat for every available free agent.”

Lots of talk, but so far nobody wants to pay the offering price requested by Wilson. He will probably have to take less than he wants.

Wilson’s lucky that this is his FA year. Otherwise, there’d be nothing close to this much attention.

If Wilson is going to have to take less than he wants, then the Feesh are the team for him!

I think the Marlins are also making offers to all the out of work NBA players, Tony Sparano, and the cast of Community.

Well sure. Scrooge and the Chihuahua already know what all those guys are making, so it’s easy to multiply any of their salaries by .85 on a pocket calculator and make them an offer…..

Knowing the Marlins Wilson picked up the check but Lauria offered to leave the tip. This is all a ploy to sucker fans into buying season tickets.

And knowing Scrooge McLoria, when Wilson halfheartedly insisted on leaving the tip himself, Scrooge immediately accepted.

Wilson is going to either Texas or NY. Hopefully, back to Texas.

Has anyone else noticed the inverted W in this photo?
