Good points but the caveat I said was IF he is healthy. No guarantee there but the contract is incentive laden so it protects the Indians to a degree. Remember Seizmore is still a young player and his lack of production can be traced directly to his knee issues.

Couldn't disagree more. He is not the same player he was 3 years ago and Tribe will now have even more money tied up in players (Hafner) with a greater than 50% chance of getting hurt. A team that is loaded with left hand hitters that hit for low average and strike out too much brings back one more? A right hand hitting OF is the priority. Plus Sizemore is not a veteran leader that a young team needs. This move is made because the OF free agent market is not the answer and no OF help in minors for years to come. The front office painted themselves into this corner. The result will be the same as last year, Sizemore & Hafner won't stay healthy so Tribe can blame injuries again for missing playoffs. Unfortunately, the window for Asdrubal, Masterson, Jimenez & Choo shrinks by one year. I was excited for next year but this move shows they are not serious about 2012.

If healthy this guy is one of the best all round players in the game. I am a Phil's fan, and there was talk about Grady but I think the Indians made the right move for their team. Good luck.

You do realize why the Indians no longer have those three guys you named right? It's the system, which allows larger markets to outbid the Indians every single time. And I hate to break it to you, as glad as I am to see the Indians and Sizemore get another shot together, sadly, he's not an all-star caliber player anymore, and the Indians front office did an excellent job here. They were still able to hold on to him but at a much cheaper rate.

Strongly agree. Grady is a huge competitor, with great passion and talent. He's been hurt for two years. It's NOT the time to jettison an all-star caliber player.

Only question I have is which one of the management dwarfs in Cleveland even considered losing him to another team? Oh right, the same ones who lost CC Sabathia, Cliff Lee, Jim Thome in his prime, and the many others they're enriched the competition with.

Dump Sizemore? Hell, dump management and ownership!

Good signing for the Indians. I'm betting he plays alot more than he has in the past few years now that he's on a 1 year deal.
