I’d love to see him come back to the Halos as a DH. He was the most popular player on the Angels when he was here and there are still a lot of fans like myself that would welcome him back, just not as an outfielder.

Vlad is great if you just need someone to not strike out. He can still make contact with any pitch, it’s just that it’s not quality contact like it used to be.

A lot of base stealing is knowing how and when to run, not just speed. Vlad was a 30/30 player twice early in his career before bad knees slowed him. Knowing how and when though is still a huge part of being successful. But i get it because of his current speed i imagine it took everyone by surprise.

Unless it changed with the new CBA Vlad would not have been guaranteed the 8 million. Since he could be a free agent the O’s would not have restrictions on what they could offer and I think they could have won a case at around a 4-5 million price point.

That being said I wouldn’t want him for 4 million either.

Izturis should just call it a day and transition into coaching.

Seriously? The dude stole a base against the Red Sox in that final series of the year. He should get arbitration just for that alone. Let me repeat that- Vladimir Guerrero stole a freakin’ base!
