Which spot in the lineup doesn’t require a guy to get on base as much as possible and to make solid contact as often as possible? The “guys use different approaches in different lineup spots” is a myth….and if guys do use anything other than the optimal approach (i.e. trying to get on base, controlling the strike zone, hitting the ball hard) because of where they are in the lineup…then they are morons.
