If DoD is offered anything more than a barrel of baseballs, he should take it. Aaron correctly notes that Stewart sucks at the plate even playing half his games at Coors Field, and his ballyhooed fielding prowess has never been anything more than average. I think he’s probably a head case, too, but at the least he has shown no Major League talent despite plenty of opportunities.

What is more sad: butchering horses to eat or having them be abandoned and neglected after the outlive their usefulness? Because the latter is what happens now.

These might be because Stewart sucks when playing 1/2 his games at Coors…so he would likely really really suck playing somewhere else (other than Arlington or perhaps Arizona)…so he’s probably just a more expensive version of whatever the Cubs have sitting in AAA.

Since the Cubs have absolutely no plan B for Ramirez’s departure other than someone like Baker, I’d very much like to see Stewart obtained. Maybe the Cubs could offer to take his whole salary and offer a halfway decent prospect or two.
