Yeah, I guess it was just a coincidence that the steroid investigation started around the time he hit 54 and he dropped to 35 the next season. That was probably just part of the “natural progression” too.

20, 31, 41, 47, 54. HR totals from his last year in MN to highest total with Boston. Seems like a logical progression for someone coming from one of the least hitter friendly parks ever for lefties to Fenway, on top of batting near one of the greatest right-handed hitters of all time, regardless of whether or not said hitter lost his way (which ironically only seems to be of concern during his time in Boston although he had high seasonal HR and RBI totals in Cleveland).

I also didn’t realize steroids made you clutch. Maybe that was the dope…

Yeah, I guess the jump to 52 HRs was not due to PEDs. If A-Rod has no integrity, but admitted to cheating, then what does make Fraudtiz and Miss Female Hormones Man-Roid?

BTW, all the guys I mentioned were accused of using PEDs. Manny, well duh, we know what happened there and I’m disappointed but Ortiz IIRC, was only on that list for a “banned” substance, not specifically a PED. Maybe I’m being obtuse but why haven’t we seen the type of public indictment of character with Ortiz as we have with all of the Yankees I mentioned? And please, do yourself a favor and not bring up the Mitchell factor. The Yankees are not victims.
