I think Aramis Ramirez and the Brewers are going to kiss

There were reports yesterday that the Brewers are interested in Aramis Ramirez.  Tom Haudricourt reports that the interest is mutual. He quotes Brewers’ GM Doug Melvin:

“He has expressed interest in us, too. That’s something I always like to hear.”

Melvin later added that he more than likes Ramirez, but he “like-likes” him. Then later the two of them ended a phone call with that “no you hang up first … no you hang up first” thing.  It’s adorable, frankly.

I felt dirty prying into their budding relationship like this.

Yeah, but they’re the Brewers, so they’re clearly seeing through drunk goggles. Once the Brewers wake up in bed the next morning to see Aramis’ old, craggy face staring back at them, they will not only regret it, they will likely require antibiotics.

I love the smell of snark in the afternoon. It smells like victory.

The have McGhee and green I don’t understand this?

Casey sucks and Green isn’t quite ready for an every day role in the lineup. If Ramirez is signed I’m guessing it’s a one maybe a two year deal to get either Casey’s head outta his rear or Green ready for to man third.

OR (Wild card) they move Casey over to first base next year.
