Given that this “decision” only affects Trout’s eligibility for an award voted on by the BBWAA, one wonders why this is MLB’s decision to make.

Agree with natstowngreg. This isn’t “important” in the big picture, but getting things accurate and fair IS important, and this is just one small aspect of that. Good job by MLB to clean this up quickly and quietly.

It doesn’t matter in the great scheme of things. Doesn’t mean he will be elected ROY. It was just unfair to Trout to lose the chance to be ROY on a technicality. Glad they fixed it.
