Rob Neyer of SB Nation points out this amusing Twitter back and forth between Braves reliever Peter Moylan and the band Nickelback (or at least whomever runs Nickelback’s account):

Koger looks like a washed up porn fluffer. The music is just as bad.

‘Leader of Men’ was where they should have retired at. At least that song has some credit.
Kroger’s the Crowned King Jackass of Doucheville.

They sing trash; they play trash; they might as well talk trash too.

Nobody is being jealous….Nickelback sucks. That is just stating a fact.

The fact so nice, it must be stated twice.

Yeah sometimes my comments come in duplicates. Not sure why.

Pretty much ah whatever on nickleback but that was a great comeback line.

Nice comeback. Better played than turning it into a “You suck” “No you suck!” argument.

Really? Those are my favourite arguments.

Nickleback’s best contribution to music is the group My Darkest Days that Kroeger discovered. That being said, it’s a good comeback line to a stinkin scum of the earth Atlanta Brave (with love from Philly)

I have never understood the vitriol towards Nickelback. I started listening to them 8 years ago when I was going through my divorce and the music just hit me right. I wore those CDs out. It’s also great workout music. I respect they are not some people’s taste but are they worse than a99 percent of rap and a lot of dance/R&B talking about women being used as sex toys and to give it up? I catch my 12-year old listening to it and I have to turn it off. Now, look of the definition of suck, and there’s the music described.
Loved Chad’s response to Moylan. Too funny.
By the way, while I really like Foo Fighters, Moylan could have picked a more well-liked band.

Nickleback is a lot like Foo. If you castrated and lobotomized Dave Grohl, that is….

Nickleback is the Justin Bieber of hard rock. They only sound even halfway decent now because rock has bottomed out so badly. There hasn’t been a truly great band since Rage Against The Machine and Tool, both over ten years ago.
God, I miss The Who.
There were at least 500 bands better than Nickleback in the 70s, and it may be closer to a 1000.

Nickleback should start a new rock genre: BLANDCORE.
