The Nats were a .500 team this year in a very tough division. They are loaded with young talent, and it’s not hard to imagine them taking a quantum leap forward to playoff contention in 2012, especially if this turns out to be the year that age catches up to the Phillies.

He’s a west coast guy. He will not sign to play in the Northeast. The Rangers don’t think he is worth “Ace” money, and he isn’t. Lands with the Angels.

C.J. is good, not great ~ and not a $100-mil pitcher by any stretch. I think the guy has already peaked and I think he knows it. For that reason, it will be all about dollars with Wilson. Candidly, he wants to remain with the Rangers but I think both Ryan and Daniels feel Wilson is not worth the long term contract nor monetary risk. There are better pitchers on the market than C.J. ~ and who will cost a lot less money. My tired old eyes tell me that the Rangers need two arms; one for Wilson and one for Feliz. I don’t think Neftali will make it in the rotation.

If the only building for sale is in Topeka, that doesn’t mean you’re buying the Sears Building. Wilson is a good pitcher but he’s not going to be confused with Lincecum or Halladay.

I think he actually did win 1 playoff game. Last year, Game 2 against Tampa. If I remember, he followed up Cliff Lee’s dominant performance with a pretty dominant performance of his own.

Granted, I’m too lazy to look it up, but that’s how I remember it.

Still, $100MM is a bit much for a guy of his caliber. Let the Nats have him.

I don’t know why the media says the Rangers are interested in CJ. The Rangers are only interested in CJ if it’s worth it….he isn’t worth what he’s asking for….

The guy has never won a playoff game….100 million for that? C’mon people.

Here’s is the Ranger’s logic…let CJ walk…(something CJ is very used to), and concentrate on signing Buerle.

Good for them if it happens. Wilson should do very, very well in that ballpark if he signs with them.
