It has been decided. Next season I shall also root for the Blue Jays. They still are much like what I want the Twin’s to be, true underdogs, only they’re in a tougher division. Go Jays! [and Twins, though I've lost hope already]

Pick the Blue Jays because Morneau needs a change of scenery, (and if A.A. could swing a trade) where better to rejuvenate his career than the Beaver Men. Having Canadian boys covering the infield corners would be sweet.

It’s also the Twins fundamentally not understanding where they stand as a franchise. It’s like they just think that last year was an aberration caused by injuries and ineffectiveness from their best players. And to a certain extent it was, but the problem isn’t so much the injuries to top talent, it’s the lack of anything resembling a major league team surrounding that top talent. Alexi Casilla? Danny Valencia? These are bad, bad players. The Twins gave 18 players 100 or more PAs last year and NINE of them had OPBs under .300.

Point is, this team should be more worried it’s complete lack of depth at ANY position than it is about having a “proven close” around.

You can also keep Pam Anderson for free but Shania Twain is a keeper.

Whoever the Jays end up with as a closer, will be better than Capps.

You can use them for batting practice.

OK Trevor here goes your rooting interest should be the Philadelphia Phillies.
1. A beautiful and historic city home of the constitution and the first nations capital.
2. Beautiful full ball park with enthusiastic fans.
3. You always have an article or two waiting for you here about your favorite team whenever you stop by.
4. We are a team of talented scrappy players who play the game the right way and are not arrogant about it. I said the players not the fans.
5. I’ve been doing it for over 40 years and even in the lean/bad times it was fun.
This being said don’t give up on your twins cause now you can sit in the much better seats as the fair weather fans all scurry to Milwaukee.

I hope the forearm injury is the only thing that sent his K% plummeting, but I doubt it. This is the Twins once again overvaluing 1) “proven” closers, 2) clubhouse guys who are always willing to “give it a go”.

The Twins are now going to be the new Mariners of the league.

So gentlemen, I need a new rooting interest for next year and I’m taking suggestions on this thread. Please explain your suggestion as to why I should root for said team.
