Yeah. Hopefully it was, like, two years and $18MM. I could stomach something like that for a Heath Bell type. Maybe Frank Francisco or K-Rod?

You never know who will offer big money for a closer. Who thought it’d be the Marlins? No team couldn’t use a high-quality reliever, and few teams won’t overpay for it.

I have to think that Ryan Madson is getting a little sick in the stomach at this point. If the Redsox don’t give him a big offer, who will? As far as Bell’s contention that the NL East is wide open, the Marlins better improve the starting staff some. Even with Reyes they aren’t with the Phillies or the Braves yet.
