As a Sox fan, I do commend the team for really trying to win each and every year. But, I think that mentality comes at a cost, the cost being the home-grown talent it takes to make trades work.

This team needs a serious rebuilding effort and they have some very attractive pieces to move to help make that happen. But, if they’re going to do this, they need to go “all in” with the rebuilding effort.

It sucks when the fun is over and your on the bottom for a while but I still say I’d want the enjoyment of being a contender here and there to go with the bad times that usually follow. I honestly don’t know how fans in places like San Diego, Kansas City, Pittsburg, etc. do it , knowing that even if they have a decent season once or twice a generation that it’s really just by accident.

A rebuild definitely seems like the right course of action to me, and at least they’re not in the Astros boat and actually have some trade chips.

Only thing Williams is focused on is replenishing is his frozen pizza & lobster supplies, it seems. Guillen is looking pretty good over there in Miami (whatever Gator is doing to the Slobberin Oz Kewpie dolls, notwithstanding) and the ChiSox looks like cellar-ville for the next 2 or 3 seasons at least. Pretty hard for ChiSox fans ad their new manager. Mind you, if they do manage to make a go of it then that’s the stuff dreams are made of, sweetheart…
