Madson had a ball go off his pitching hand when he stupidly tried to grab it. He went on the disabled list and also suffered some nerve damage. He wasn’t near as dominate when he came back and I would say buyer beware. Madson seems to do stupid things but nothing to serious so far. Two years ago he got mad, kicked the water cooler and broke his toe landing on the 60 day disabled list.

Maybe the Twins still slip in somewhere and land a REAL closer and Capps can be an overpaid, mediocre setup guy instead of an overpaid, mediocre closer.

It still sickens me at how much money closers get in comparison to other relief pitchers, not even looking at the numbers really. With that said, the Red Sox are sitting pretty, as it was said earlier on this site they are the only ones looking for a “closer type” so if they want one of these two they basically can have’em.
