While Ramirez isn’t the greatest pick up it’s far from the worst. Truth is with Reyes gone the Brewers are this much closer to re-signing Betancourt. I’d rather go into the season with the left side of the IF as Ramirez and Betancourt than Yuni and McGehee.

If by “had the same year”, you mean that they were both alive during it and they both played professional baseball for an NL Central team….then, yeah…I agree….they had the same year.

He won’t move now. 2013-2014 is another story, though. His hamstrings have been fragile for years, and I don’t think he’d get over another significant injury at this point in his career.

With the way his defense has declined, there’s a good chance he’d actually be more valuable at first base. Still, considering that the competition at first base this winter includes Pujols, Fielder, Pena and D-Lee, while the competition at third is Wilson Betemit, it’s hard to imagine him moving now.

He’s going to have to soon enough. Aramis will not be healthy and consistent throughout the entirety of this deal.

The guy almost had the same year Prince did, and look, Prince wants a long term super mega contract, this guy, wants 3 years and probably less than market value considering his age.

Sure, the risk is there with his age with the drop off, but I would take that risk over Prince’s body weight/shape/size/money.

Milwaukee, I get you have to be smart because one bad move could spell doom for years. But come on, this is your 4th batter in the line up, this helps 3rd, and you still get a 300 hitter.

I say just sign him. What the heck, you aren’t going anywhere waiting for the Prince Bus to roll up. That thing is long gone.

If it was about him being comfortable he would have signed immediately. Move on and cash in on the talent that is available now because if you keep waiting, when you actually do start looking, the talent will be gone.

Brewers, stop sitting on your hands. You were a few pieces away from the World Series, the time to act is NOW
