Nothing is official yet, but Boston is set to let bench coach DeMarlo Hale go and he’s expected to join Buck Showalter’s staff in Baltimore as third base coach.

Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports that the two sides are negotiating a buyout because Hale is still under contract and says the deal “should be announced soon.”

Hale worked under Showalter during his 2003-2006 stint with the Rangers and Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports that he’s also “close” with new Orioles boss Dan Duquette. Earlier this offseason he interviewed for the Cubs’ managerial opening.

I suspect a few more coaches in Boston to be let go as Bobby needs to get his own men in there. Bench coach, pitching coach and at least one of the base coaches.

Didn’t they already let the 1st base coach go?

        Yes. Ron Johnson.

pitching coach is already gone. Valentine was courting David Cone and Orel Hersheiser as potential replacements.

gave yourself a thumbs up pretty quickly on that one. hard to believe you had it out of your posterior for that long.

Out of my posterior? Sounds like something you know about doing quite well…except that in your case, you have the other thumb in your mouth and you alternate every time someone yells “Switch”.
