If Fat Ass Ortiz has been able to extend his career by being a full-time DH, then Fielder should take note as well.

Nothing wrong with the American League having the DH rule. That way we get to see pitchers have to pitch to decent hitters in ALL NINE spots in the batting order, while limiting injury to pitchers both at the plate and on the basepaths. One thing that would make it more interesting though would be if for every time that a pitcher is pulled, the DH would also have to be changed the next time that spot came up in the batting order. Might make teams think twice about pulling a pitcher during a game (and would at least add back a bit of the strategy that the old-timers who cling to the National League’s way of doing things so cherish).

Agreed that Toronto’s not a bad idea if he wants to hit homers.

And an even better shot if they can get Bud Light to entertain the idea of a designated runner for him. That way, once he reaches base or crushes a ball, they can have a guy go in and run the bases for him. Might get another three or four years out of his knees that way. What the hell, once the DH was deemed incurable, who cares what other kinds of degeneration beset the designatedhitterball league?

I agree, Toronto would be a great choice…plus they have that guy who sits in the CF bleachers, dressed in white, relaying signs to Jays hitters.

I really do not see a better suitor for him right now (assuming the rumors of interest are true). This may be the first time I have ever said that about a big FA and Toronto.

Gotta think that prince is considering and may even prefer to sign with a contender as a DH. He definetly wouldn’t pull a Hanley.
