Baseball America ranked the Red Sox farm system at #17 and the Cubs farm system at #16 in their most recent ratings (2011).

Yankees were rated #5, BTW.

Admit that they spend nearly as much as the Yankees…quit whining that the Yankees spend too much (when it’s obvious that despite the low profile that the Yankees have taken in FA for the last two offseasons that other teams are still driving up prices)…quit blaming the Yankees for their own self-inflicted problems…oh wait, that’s mostly fan driven.

Basically, I don’t care how they get players, as long as it’s within the rules. What I do mind is the “dish it but can’t take it” mentality that pervades not only the organization but the fan base as well.

Funny that Boston fans have no problems constantly criticizing the Yankees, but when the same comments are directed (rightfully so) back at the Sox, all of a sudden you guys start crying like a bunch of little babies.

Yankees 7 titles in the Steinbrenner Era alone…Red Sox 2 titles in over 90 years.

Appropriate is getting value for the investment. The Yankees got great value, while the Sox got significantly less.

Keep trying though.

At least they buy appropriately instead of outrageously like those yanks…Gonzo and Craw are definitely worth it…Craw came back with a decent finish and will likely make up for it…hes got plenty of talent thats for sure. Lackey was the big F up, but he has potential too…hopefully after TJ surgery…

I just don’t understand MLB and/or Kenny Williams. Danks and Floyd are good pitchers with possible futures. Why can’t they stay in Chicago? What does Boston have that Chicago doesn’t? I’m not a baseball genius, but it seems to me that it is going to be awhile before the Chisox will be able to replace this kind of pitching talent.

ranks mAkes A lot of sense for the red sox since a pitcher with only a year left wouldn’t exactly command top prospects in a trade and would make for a good stopgap in the meantime
