If the Rockies bring Ian Stewart to spring training it is because they realize there is no market for him and to move him they would have to dump him for little to no return. They must feel there is still some hope that Stewart can bounce back and show there is talent left in that once-promising bat.

It makes sense the Rockies would wait and hope Stewart is mentally and physically healthy, motivated, working on nuances of his swing and produces early and over time and either re-earns trust from the Rockies or re-establishes some trade value.
