AP Here’s a palate-cleanser from the hot stove league: TMZ reports that James Loney was arrested last month after crashing his Maserati into three cars and spitting at a police officer.
In other news, people have paid James Loney enough money to play baseball over the years that he can afford a Maserati. That’s fair.
According to the story, Loney was arrested on November 14 after hitting a Toyota, Mercedes and a Mini. When officers arrived on the scene of the crash, Loney was handcuffed and taken to a hospital for breathalyzer and blood tests, which came back negative for drugs and alcohol. He was not charged with a crime.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers have until December 12 to decide whether to tender him a contract for next season. And Ned Colletti thinks that Loney is gonna hit a lot of home runs. All kinds of crazy stuff happening with him.

James Loney was arrested last month…but no one cared enough about him to notice until now.

And became so violent and uncontrollable during his incarceration that he needed to be placed in a constraining chair and injected with a sedative.

So…he spat at the police officer not as a slobbery drunk, but with complete sobriety? Who does he think he is, Tony Montana?

Yup, most disheartening part about this whole piece is that a heartless scrub who has done nothing in baseball worth mentioning can afford that car =(

Sure I wish he hit 25 HR a year but the guy has an .288 career BA, 13 Hr, 80+ RBI avg. How many teams could use that production?

Well, over the past 4 seasons he has averaged a WAR of around 1. So, virtually no other team could use the production of James Loney. Wait, maybe some AAA team out there.

Where are you getting your info from? Go to fangraphs, select 1B, then multiple seasons 2008-2011 and tell me where he ranks.
