Photo of the day: the knives are really out for Pujols now

Check out the front page of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s web sports section a few minutes ago.  Practically New York Post-esque:

It’s mission accomplished for him in St. Louis. No LaRussa and no Pujols. But Cards fans have a world title to keep themselves smiling at least until next October. And $25 million a year can buy some pretty good replacement bats.

Meanwhile, the chick on this page in the elephant t-shirt, pimping snorg tees has a great rack!

    C’est la vie.

I get that Card fans are unhappy, but really…they should be ecstatic. Their team did NOT just commit A QUARTER OF A BILLION DOLLARS to one player…who is somewhere in his 30’s.

The Angels should have their collective heads examined.

I lament his leaving for a slightly different reason. As a So Fla denizen, I got to see a little of AP, Cubs WGN broadcasts mostly, but not as much as I’d have liked. Now, he be mostly highlite and stat line, little else.
