The Angels played it very close to the vest

ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick was pretty well stonewalled when he tried to confirm the Angels’ interest in Albert Pujols on Tuesday evening:

The Orange County Register’s Sam Miller has a cornucopia of denials. Just awesome.

Nevermind – just noticed the last line.

I knew it wasn’t just me!! I swear I said the exact same thing. If that’s not Lovitz it’s his twin brother. I’m sitting there for 2 minutes wondering what connection Lovitz has with the headline and what is the joke I’m missing.

Ok, I missed that too. This has really frazzled me……

The Angels hired Lovitz to be Pujols’ talent manager.

Maybe they were shocked because they didn’t think anybody knew?

Hahaha I love it. Well played.
