Why don’t you just take Verlander and all the other guys you want form other teams, so you can win every year? I am the one who told you DeWitt is cheap, remember? We know him well here. But, he will not throw away assets like the cards to save a few dollars. You are talking about 1/4 Billion over 10 years. Anyone who paid that is stupid, and that is what I think the Angels are. You can be sure that the 150 Mil T-V deal they just got was already agreed to before the signed Albert. That is why they went after him. They had more money than even DeWitt. I am almost willing to bet now, that the Rangers will repeat in the AL, IF they go after and sign Prince! Look at that potential line up. How do you pitch around all of that power? Stop complaining and lets see what happens next season.

Mozeliak and Dewitt had plenty of time – 2 years to strike a mutually beneficial agreement with Albert and failed to do so. They sat on the hands and “hoped” free agency wouldn’t spiral in a direction they felt they couldn’t go.

Well, that didn’t work now did it?

I understand the Cards will move on, they’re the St Louis Cardins for cryin’ out loud – they will survive.

That said, I do not trust the current leadership to move the franchise in a positive direction going forward.

No one jerked anyone around, they negotiated and the player took the best deal…it happens. Next time around, you repeat the process and hope for a different result….but under no circumstance can you take any of it personally or let bad outcomes affect your ability to deal with an agent that represents players you would like to sign.

If you can’t have a heated argument with someone and be just as good of friends afterwards, then you shouldn’t be an agent or a person that negotiates contracts.

I love the guy and he was great but not anymore. IMO he is a superstar fielder and a 8 hole hitter. He’s just not worth the money. I would rather see the phillies sign furcal who is a good fielder and most likely will give near the same production as jimmy offensively. That would allow the phills to spend that money on someone who can consistently get on base like cuddyer or even Beltran
