If that’s true it makes Lozano the biggest r tard when it comes to math ever. “Yes my client turned down $21 million dollars in straight up cash plus over $18 million in taxes he will lose just because he felt one possible playoff contender had a better chance to win than other playoff contender”

That literally makes him sound like the biggest moron on the planet. No matter how you spin that he looks moronic. Toss the Cardinals and winning over cash into it and he likes even stupider.

I’m so not looking forward to his negotiations with the Reds with Votto at the end of 2015.

I called bullshit went this “offer” was initially reported. The Marlins have been upfront with everything. I am actually suprised to learn it was $210 in lieu of the $220. It appears Lazano floated $220 to the Cardinals to get them to “match” it as (up to that point)…the Angels weren’t in the game.

The Feesh’s versions of their offers have been pretty consistent all the way through this process and no identifiable source anywhere close to the actual negotiations ever uncorked some of those monster numbers. All part of the fog of war. There’s no way they make room for any more improvements with a ridiculous offer even remotely approaching $275MM and they’ve also been pretty clear about what they wanted to do – and still want to do. They’re still looking for another top starter and one more impact bat. I didn’t buy the huge number yesterday – nor did I buy that they’re looking for the Fat Prince.

While Lozano has an incentive to make it seem like they turned down a higher offer, Miami also has an incentive to deny that their higher offer was rejected.

There’s been some speculation that the $275 million figure was floated by Pujols’ agent in an attempt to make it seem like he turned down more money to sign with the Angels for $254 million.

I can’t believe Mr. Lozano would do something like that. He seems like such a nice guy.
