This one is bad news. I liked Dotel and he could pitch for a good inning or two. The Tigers aren’t stupid, and know his limits. And by the way, who else are the cards going to use to get Braun out?

Losing AP may have been anticipated, of course, but now Octavio Dotel is gone, and last week Gerald Laird took his big bat to the AL too? And the Birds are apparently dumping Ryan Theriot? Will there be an “stars” left in St. Louis this year? Can anyone find Ryan Franklin’s telephone number?

You know, I mostly agree with you. With all the Albert and Angels talk, the Tiger still have a great staff, and I think the best manager in MLB, and Verlander, and will kick the pi$$ out of most teams in the central. Look out Angels, you may have just spent too much money on trying to bring in a winner.

Yes, but it allows Leyland the ability to go LaRussa all over other teams. “Oh a righty-lefty-righty due up this inning? Warm-up Dotel, Alburquerque, and Coke. At the same time. Damnit, I don’t care if we only have two pitching rubbers, use the other team’s bullpen.”

This is bad news for the rest of the AL. Tigers already had a dominant bullpen, this makes it better. Leyland could pull his starter in the 5th and still feel confident with those arms.
