The backloading of deals is more effective for the club when the economy is robust and inflation rates are rising. So many teams are doing heavily backloaded deals now, it says a lot about revenue sharing and the rising revenues of MLB overall. MLB seems to be running a parallel economy where the economic recession doesn’t apply.
