The only mystery is why would any team give Rollins 5 years and 60 million which is what his agent is shooting for. The Phillies have offered Rollins 3 years and around 40 million which is by far better then any other team. Knowing Ruben he might pull the offer if Rollins agent continues to balk. They could replace Rollins offense by signing Cudeyer and trade for a one year stop gap at SS until Freddie Gavis is ready.

He is going to stay in Philly. Who else would take a chance on him at his salary level? And at least the Phills will be set up the middle. And, why not pay the guy a little reward for past performance? Isn’t that what the Angels did for Albert?

In all seriousness, shame the Mets are having such financial issues. They need a SS after Reyes left, and signing Rollins would have the double effect of weakening the Phillies as well.

Somebody ragged on PL, and I missed it? Damn! Morning fellas.. I’m thinking the Mystery team, if it is indeed Detroit, won’t be offering Rollins more than the Phillies are. This isn’t like the Werth situation at all and the Phillies kind of still need Rollins. There aren’t better short stops on the market right right now. Unless they trade for a decent SS the Phills kinda need Jimmy back.
