I wouldn’t mind seeing Keppinger back at the Astros. No power, but a decent OBA. Certainly bettre than any of their other possibilities. Not like I think he will be holding anyone down in the Minors.

Also, an overwhelming majority of the regular posters are good guys (girls) and we like to have a tad bit of fun at each others expense. Pathetic of the Giants to non-tender Keppinger, who is a useful role player. Obviously their payroll is hampered by the Zito and Rowand contracts, but they’re a relatively large market team, have been among MLB’s attendance leaders consistently since AT&T park opened, and they sold out every game this past season. No excuse for crying poor.

I was surprised to see the Feesh designate Hensley, much less non-tender him. The guy was pretty reliable coming in from the boolpen, one of the team’s few strong suits last season. I take it to mean that they plan to do some more spending on their relief corps. At least, I hope that’s what it means.
