As long as we’re enabling Hanley’s incredible sense of self worth, and assuming physical health,
Fish should dangle C.F. in front of him. High profile position, center of attention etc…he could potentially be intrigued, and Hanley is definitely physically gifted enough to give it a shot, and to look upon him for the first time, you would think Center was his natural position, bigger and stronger than he used to be.
maybe he loves the idea and it works, or maybe he abhors it so much that 3rd looks good to him.
it would be worth ground balls and some extra time with infield staff to see if Bonafacio can play
3rd reasonably consistantly, to make this work.
They really need to amicably do whatever they can to have these fellas batting 1-2-3.
If they can accomplish that, the can change their name to the Merlin’s, and wear a really cool pointy hat with moons and stars to go with their new uni’s.

I couldn’t agree more, cur. Hanley is being more mature about it than a certain utility guy that got an MVP vote this year. He hasn’t said jack to the media, and I would imagine that by the time spring training rolls around he will be out there at 3rd and saying the right things.

Don’t care if they trade Hanley. Would like to keep him but he hasn’t done anything since he was in HR contest years ago… Probably ruined him and made him more of a diva.

Kyle, I agree. Ramirez’s reaction has been completely blown out of proportion, IMO. As far as I can tell he has something of a legitimate beef: he has better offensive numbers & tenure. With luck, he’ll see that Reyes is a better fielder than he and give way. So far he’s kept direct comments out of the media. All we have are vague ‘reports’. No one’s quoting anything from him since the acquisition of JR. He has till spring training to show up and play or till he actually gets in the media himself and confirms his lack of enthusiasm for moving to 3rd etc.

If these players were half as good as they think they are they should have no problem playing any position. Your a Ball player not a short stop player or a 3rd base player a ball plyer . Did Troy Brown say “Sorry Coach I’m just a wide out” I cant do anything else it’s in my contract !!

What ever happened to doing what your manager says to do ? Thats his job to evaluate a player and if he thinks “Hey this guy might be better on third base” then shut up whine boy and do what your told l respect my boss when he says “Hey go here and do this” I don’t bitch and complain till I get my way .
