they talk about lack of money but want to waste what they have on everybody else's rejects. walt there is a reason the giants do not want ross back and that is he sucks! why pay somebody like that when you have a young talent like Heisey, who dusty refuses to give a real shot at being a starter. how can you waste a year and a half on watching gomes suck and not give heisey more than a couple of starts a week to prove himself?reds fans want to win but we also would like to see the young talent we have play. there is no reason cozart should not be the starting shortstop with janish or frazier backing him up. third base should be a rolen/fransisco platoon with fransisco getting most of the playing time since rolen is always injured. go with the young guys you have and have shown they can do the job if given the time instead of the reject plan you are using.

Stubbs, Bruce, Heisey. What am I missing? Who is the odd man out if they make this deal. All of them are too good to be a 4th outfielder. Unless their plan is to trade Stubbs or Heisey for pitching. If they can strengthen their rotation by trading one of them, it makes sense. But by themselves, neither of those 2 bring enough for a team to trade anything better than a back of the rotation pitcher. Hindsight will be 20/20 for the Reds, but if this was the plan, Stubbs or Heisey and Grandal for Jair Jurjjens, while keeping Volquez and Alonso for other trade bait seems like a better option.
