We’re having an Albert Pujols Pinana night on the left coast on New Year’s Eve but we were having trouble on which jersey to put him and coming up with the 254,000,000+ dinero to pay him. I think they are a better deal for him than he is for them.

But you are right that he will sit tight for the absolute highest dollar. They just need to give him that deadline and be ready to walk away.

Let’s face it, there isn’t anybody else out there, and I am sure team Beltran is well aware of that. The Cards’ won’t part with any trading chips that do not already have no-trade contracts so their only option to fill the offensive gap left by the Pujols’ departure is Beltran.

The key with me is getting him to play CF, on a part-time basis. Hopefully he will commit to giving it a try. Do not be surprised if it takes more than $25 mil to sign him. It may take numbers closer to $30 with a third year vesting option.

The Jays are mentioned with regard to Beltran because his agent is known to have visited Toronto. AA has also mentioned that the Jays could use a middle of the order bat.
