PSA: Joe Buck is on Twitter

Dec 21, 2011, 5:21 PM EDT

Joe Buck

Hey guys, you can quit talking smack about Joe Buck in our comment threads. If you have any smack to talk about Joe Buck, tell the man himself at his new Twitter account: @Buck.

So far it appears to be him and not some assistant doing PR tweets. Which is always a plus.  And he has a sense of humor about himself. Check out his bio:

No I don’t hate your team. Get over it. I am happy to provide you hours of free entertainment or to be there as your piñata for all your frustrations. Enjoy!

An hour ago he had three followers. As I type this he has over 500 and is getting about 100 every couple of minutes. Follow him now and say you got in on the ground floor.

Just be nice or, like every other polarizing figure on Twitter, he’ll stop tweeting and that’s no fun at all.

Are you sure? Because the first tweet is “Test” not “Did you know my father was Jack Buck?”

  2. localbandhero - Dec 21, 2011 at 5:28 PM

    Should be @Buckshimself.

  3. Gonzo - Dec 21, 2011 at 5:42 PM

I’ve never seen him show so much personality aside from that tweet.

Mundane and ignorance now present in 140 characters or less

    • umrguy42 - Dec 22, 2011 at 8:45 AM

Forget Buck – that’s Twitter in a nutshell (including me!) :D

  5. Utley's Hair - Dec 21, 2011 at 6:30 PM

I misread the title as “PSA: Joe Buck is a Twit.”

  6. natsattack - Dec 21, 2011 at 6:40 PM

That would actually make more sense.

  7. test2402 - Dec 21, 2011 at 6:44 PM

    F.J.B.

  8. nategearhart - Dec 21, 2011 at 6:48 PM

He’s actually pretty funny on there so far. It’s a Christmas miracle! Or do you think he’s been trolling us all these years? That’d be pretty amazing.

  9. russcirjr - Dec 21, 2011 at 8:29 PM

Is he following Fernando Tatis on Twitter?

  10. phukyouk - Dec 21, 2011 at 8:49 PM

I always knew he was a twat

  11. trbowman - Dec 21, 2011 at 8:51 PM

Joe Buck gets more excited tweeting than commentating the Super Bowl.

  12. tone360 - Dec 21, 2011 at 10:44 PM

    F@ck Jo-Blo Buck.

  13. 303bengalguy - Dec 21, 2011 at 10:55 PM

I’ll take pinata for $500 Joe.

I don’t Twitter so can someone please give him a virtual moon? would that be called #imrandymossmooningyourightnowovertheinternet ?

  14. only1stantheman - Dec 22, 2011 at 12:05 AM

I fully expect the “thumbs down” but im a sap, and there was something special about his “we’ll see you tomorrow night” in homage to hisprice dad’s famous call(I know, I know he’s living in his father’s shadow, right?). Baseball is a generation to generation tradition, and it felt like that moment was one of those special moments that link the past to the present.

Didn’t you mean @thanksdad seeing as his dads reputation got him the job and he is the worst play by play man in sports

I like Joe Buck. I think he does a decent job commentating.
