There was a small fire at Wrigley Field

Dec 28, 2011, 10:45 AM EDT

Wrigley Field

The Chicago Tribune reports that there was a small fire at Wrigley Field this morning. It didn’t spread out of a single office. The fire department was called and had already gone in the space of an hour.

Zambrano is in Venezuela right now. Pitched last night, in fact. But I’m guessing he had something to do with it.

Freakin’ Zambrano.

Just like The Cubs: gettin’ hot when it don’t matter…sigh

    Zambrano.

    Firestarter.

The only fire that will be at Wrigley this year.

Besides the fire sale, that is.

I dunno, I think there might be a whole lot of burnt offerings…

You mean like the pretzels at Wrigley by the seventh inning?

      • wlschneider09 - Dec 28, 2011 at 4:27 PM

I was thinking like chickens and stuff (goats?), but if the pretzels appease the baseball gods, I think the Cubbies might burn a few.

Does anyone know Hendry’s whereabouts? It will be easier for him to get another job if he can eliminate all evidence of the contracts he gave to Soriano, Bradley, Zambrano etc.

When Theo said the Cubs were going to need a complete rebuild I just assumed he was only talking about the roster.

I bet it was Epstein practicing his “magic” to overcome the “curse”

He was roasting a billy goat.

      • Old Gator - Dec 28, 2011 at 2:45 PM

That’s a real conundrum. In order to kill the prion that vectors the dreaded neurological disease Die Vloek van der Geitbok, you have to roast the meat so completely that it becomes inedible. At that point, you might as well have sprayed it with Lysol.

Potentially a HAZMAT issue as well as FD, as inadvertantly and carelessly, a drum of
highly flammable, and potentially highly toxic Liquid Z, was left unsecured.
Heads will roll, as the rebuild goes all the way down to Materials Management.

Wrigley Field – “Hotter than the home team’s offense!”

Hey, you’re talking about a lineup that has Soriano and Blake DeWitt and Jeff Baker and Soto and Stewart and……awww, you’re right.
