Honestly I am usually a company man when it comes to the A’s, I just trust Beane has a plan. This one has me baffled, other then it is throwing a bone to the fans as Coco is a likable guy. But 14 million bucks for a .314 OBP with no power ?!! For the major league min they could just call up Wes Timmons who had a .432 OBP at Sac last season and , although an infielder ( with a lifetime .972 fielding percentage ), is a good enough athlete to play the outfield. Then they take that 14 million and invest it in that cuban kid. I mean do they think that with Coco they are now ready to take on the the Rangers? I love the green and gold, but man this one really stinks.

Tore his hammy last season legging out a single. I think he had surgery for it. Hopefully he’s been taking BP rather than sprinting while recovering. Either way, Beavermen have some kid & his old man named Rasmus playing center now, so Davis is, in theory, expendable. Better be careful what you say: Anthopolous might read these things and you could be giving him ideas to unload Davis back on Beane. He’s done bigger magic in the past…

I’m not an Oakland fan, but what the bloody hell is Beane thinking??? He can’t afford upper level pitching like Cahill or Gio, but Crisp is a must? This is the weirdest move he’s made since the Holliday deal.
