Walt’s standard breakfast was a donut dunked in scotch. (For a guy who didn’t like Jewish people very much, that might have been his way of showing contempt for a bagel and cream cheese dunked in a wussy cup of coffee.) Whatever. I suppose that any family whose scion breakfasted on marinated donuts would be capable of passing along some pretty oddball chromosomes. Of course, if it’s true that Walt is lying in a Gibsonesque state of cryogenic suspension up in Tinkerbell’s caste (and if the Dwarfs haven’t been using his frozen head as a paperweight a la Ted Williams, or tapping his brainwaves a la Cold Lazarus), it might just be that the family needs to redevelop a dedicated income stream to cover the high cost of electricity in Californy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were doing it JUST to get the stadium and surrounding land. That’s certainly worth more than the team is at present.

Remember- this isn’t the Walt Disney Company, owner of Pixar, ESPN, ABC and nearly everything else in the universe. This is the family and heirs of Roy Disney, Walt’s nephew. They are hooked up with some SERIOUS money named Stanley Gold. Judging by all the stories in the Times about the various groups in on the Dodgers, Frank McScum might actually break even on selling the team- lots of well-heeled, high profile bidding groups.

Walt’s brother, Roy, had a son named….oddly enough, Roy. Who died in 2009, and was Walt’s nephew.

Wait Roy was the brother of Walt for starters. Also for clarifications sake is this Disney/Pixar company? Disney got out of the professional sports business after unloading the Angels and the Ducks why would they want to get back in? If the do get back in they have shown an ability to be the best at their core businesses.
