I’m tired of the way Japanese players are handled.

I honestly wish the Mets would have won the rights by bidding 70 million, and then offer him a 10 year contract at $500,000 per year. If he doesn’t like it he can pound salt and the Mets would get the money back.

The whole process is stupid.

Nolan Ryan gave Darvish a pair of cowboy boots when he was in DFW last week, so this is probably a done deal.

If it was that easy (i.e. getting Greg and Mike to team him how to pitch), they wouldn’t be spending $110M or so to sign a guy that already knows how to pitch…they could just pick up guys off the scrap heap and “learn ‘em up”.
