And that’s fine Kyle, it’s an easy way to see how good a pitcher is. But looking at WHIP and ERA they’re all very similar. All i’m trying to say is that K/9 is a stat that doesn’t reflect on the scoreboard like WHIP does, or HR/9, Where they’re all similar. Kendrick gets more of his outs by getting guys to ground out instead of striking out. I’m not singing his praises, don’t get me wrong, but he does get the job done.

My wife’s aunt was Kendrick’s speech therapist for a year in Mount Vernon, Washington when he was like 12. He also has a very tasteful first name. Great story, I know.

Blahh…. He’s at about the pay limit for mediocre pitchers at this point. When he spot starts you just pray the sinker is on or it’s 5-0 before you can blink.

Everyone Harshes on Kendrick, but just glancing around. He’s got similar numbers to Phil Hughes if you’re not all hung up on strike outs. Hughes will get a bit more than Kendrick through arbitration. John Maine is another, and he makes a bit more. Like I said, though, If you’re into results more so than Strikes per 9. Kendrick is a ground ball pitcher, so it it is what it is.

My personal feelings about KK aside, the owed it to him for services rendered. Like it or not, the Phillies don’t make the 2007 post season without KK’s contributions (luck or not). Without their incredible September comeback in 2007, I don’t think 2008 happens. Hence, good for Kyle.

Its never the twenty million dollar a year guys that I think are overpaid, its the kyle Kendricks of the world that get 3.6 million dollars that just confounds me.
