Yeah, yeah. 9ABs. Counts as playing same way me tripping & falling into my speech pathologist's ample chest when I was 6 counts as "foreplay" (bet no one else can remember the precise moment they realized girls were kinda interesting...FYI good looking speech pathologists make your stutter worse). As Yankee fans, we are spoiled with being able to watch and cheer for guys like Jorge Posada every day.

I’ll admit – now that it’s all said and done – I took him for granted. Switch hitting catcher w power who could call a decent game behind the plate (caught 2 perfect games) and was CLUTCH. Leader in the clubhouse. Class act.

He is a special player. We will miss him. Thanks Jorgie.

Seems like yesterday I was watching him here in CBus, playing for the Clippers. Astounding roster in the mid-90s: Posada, Jeter, Mariano, Ramiro Mendoza and Andy Pettitte (and future manager material in Bob Melvin). Winning begets winning.

The press conference was obviously difficult to do for a man of Jorge’s passion and intensity. He handled it with as much aplomb as possible, helped by the press that, for the most part, didn’t treat him like Richard Nixon.
And, thanks, Jorge for including me in your appreciation to everyone who has even bought a hot dog in the Cathedral during the last 17 years.
