Last off season, Isringhausen was signed to a minor league deal and his role was to pitch well in Buffalo until someone in Queens was put on the 60 day DL or was really bad. Blaine Boyer obliged by being really bad and Isringhausen had an MLB job. This off season, Isringhausen wants a major league contract. The Mets don’t want to give him one. They have already signed Jeff Stevens and Fernando Cabrera for the role he filled last season.
