Looks like the Giants are looking at a youth movement. Hank Schulman on Twitter:

Next name to watch for Giants: Xavier Nady. There’s some mutual interest, but almost certainly on a minor-league deal + invite.

He could be a useful bat depending on his health, but coming off a 248/.287/.359 season, he’s not exactly a tonic for the the “why isn’t our team doing anything of note this offseason”-itis which is currently plaguing every Giants fan I know.

Ah, the X-Man. Thanks for that great half-year you gave Pittsburgh and for netting us Tabata and Karstens .

The Giants are doing everything they can to boost attendance in Oakland. Unfortunately, the A’s are doing everything they can to counteract those moves.

Dennis DeYoung from Styx: Nady from the moment I saw you standing all alone, you gave me all the love that I needed- so shy like a child who had grown

        Nady, to Sabean:

        Cause I’m your Nady
        And you are my GM
Whenever you need a fifth outfielder
I’ll do all that I can

        Oh, never mind.
