I think he gets over paid wherever he ends up. To inconsistent so no one really knows what they are getting, just hoping they get the player from the second half of last year. That sounds like wishful thinking to me.

If Heyman is correct that the Tigers offered Oswalt $10 million for 1 year, then, they could easily be in the mix for Jackson.

In addition, most teams would never give him the deal he was looking for even if he is great next year….the guy has a long history of inconsistency…one year won’t wash that away or convince any teams to pay him like he’s going to be reliable all of a sudden. Too many teams have been burned doing deals like that already. If he does a 1 year deal and tries again next year, pretty much the same types of offers will be on the table.

Winning instantly in Boston? While we like to pick on the Tigers for playing Cabrera at 3B, the Red Sox seem to have finally given up and are planning on playing 2012 without a shortstop. What will that do for their defense?

Unless you meant winning at Call of Duty during a fried chicken and beer tournament. In that case, yes, winning in Boston.

woodts – the problem with that is as it stands today their are to many pitchers scheduled for FA next year that are better than he is. He would probably be the 7th or 8th best pitcher in next year’s FA class. That’s going to seriously diminish his value both in dollars and years. If he can get 3 years he should take it and hit FA again for the 2015 season when he will be 31 go on 32 during the 2015 season. He still is young enough then to get another 3 year deal as well. At least in my opinion.

I’d look at a one year contract and then test the waters again next year, I don’t think anyone’s going to offer him the deal he’s hoping for now. Winning instantly for a year in Boston probably sounds most appealing

Not likely. The Jays have three prospects who finished last season at double A whom they think could be ready for the majors sometime this year. They are unlikely to block them.
