The White Sox have certainly scouted the Blue Jay farm system quite well. The Santos for Molina trade should work out quite well in the long run. Molina is a great pitching prospect who could possibly reach the big team by mid season. I was disappointed that the Jays traded him. The two pitching prospects that the White Sox got for returning Frasor to the Jays have the ability to eventually pitch in the majors. They have yet to harness their talent, but they both have a lot of upside potential. Both of them were drafted by the Jays and received signing bonuses above scale.

Dunn is certainly the biggest black mark on his resume particularly because he coveted him for years. But the Daniel Hudson Edwin jackson trade is a close 2nd in my mind. Both players are righty starters with very similar fastball and slider arsenals. The thing is the prospect he gave up was the better major league pitcher when the trade happened. So he basically gave up six years of cheap club control of a good young starter so he could rent the older, inferior version of the same player at a significantly higher price. That’s a REALLY bad trade

The Tigers are certainly heavy favorites and probably will win the division. However, there’s no way they’ll clinch by August when the infield leads the league in errors and lowest range factor, thereby increasing their runs allowed and the ERAs of their pitching staff. I bet Paul Konerko could even beat out a bunt for a hit if Cabrera’s playing third.
