I said anyone on base. 48 rbis is misleading considering he was hitting at the bottom of the order behind I’ll swing and miss at anything Upton. Kotch was a rare threat to reach base every single at bat, something the Rays did not have a lot of last year. On a team that lacked offense all around, 48 rbis isn’t a bad number. As an everyday first baseman he could have had bigger numbers, but I was very happy with the job he did at the plate after seeing Pena leave. I’m happy Pena is back from a clubhouse perspective, but from a fan perspective he can be very tough to watch in the batters box.

48 rbi last year as the every day 1b -not a serious threat in my book. If Os played him at 1b, then they would not know what kind of hitter Chris Davis can be. Davis should be playing every day at a position; he is only 25.

I’m still really bummed the Rays didn’t even talk to him this off season.

Local boy and all, I thought he was a great addition to the team last year. The O’s would be getting a great glove at first, and a serious RBI threat anytime he came up with a baserunner.

His line isn’t that solid once you factor in his BABIP.

Last season was a clear outlier.
