I can’t imagine why the Rangers would want Oswalt. If they sign him, then most likely Harrison would be bumped to the pen. 26 year old Harrison had a better 2011 than 34 year old Oswalt, and he should get better with experience. I could be wrong, but Oswalt looks to be in decline.

I think merchandise sales (merchandise not sold in the store in the park of the team) is split evenly among all of MLB.

Since he has reportedly turned dow a 1 year contract with Detroit for $10 million and wants to pitch for a team that is close to his home, signing with either Texas or St. Louis for less than $10 million is just as likely as a 9 year $200 million contract.
