Phillie he would probably at least be at home. St. Louis is, I think, a pretty good fit. Houston is for dreamers who want to trade him again in July.

But it starts to look like he just might walk. Too many see this arrogance. I respect a man who knows he is rich and is in a position to negotiate for what he wants. You don’t see that enough.

Sounds like Roy is a little higher on himself than all of the teams that might want him. While he might still sign a decent deal, I think he wants to pitch for a contender. A lot of contenders have either set their rotations or have spent most of their money already. I think he is going to have the make the classic choice of contender for cheap or lesser team for possibly more cash. What are your priorities, Roy?

Roy is going to land on his feet and get a nice deal. There is plenty of teams that could use ano allstar caliber sp. Perhaps when the dodgers ownership issue gets resolved they will make an offer.

He did turn down an offer from the Tigers, because he did not want to pitch there. He has made a lot of money and if he does not get an offer that appeals to him, retirement is a viable option.

Agree with Utley’s Hair here. I don’t think he has any “need” to play still. He probably wants to play but won’t just go anywhere. He seems content to retire.

I wish he would come to Boston, that’s who really needs him. Unfortunately, he hates Boston. There’s no hunting, there’s gay marriage, and he doesn’t get to swing a bat.

John Henry should buy (another?) island somewhere and let Roy Oswalt hunt “The Most Dangerous Game.”

And that would be the Borg, or course.

There’s quite the fine line between want and need, and there’s no reason for him to “swallow what’s left of his pride.” Based on his past comments, all along, his retirement has been an option for him. If he doesn’t find the situation that he feels is right for him, then he could very well ride that tractor into the sunset.

As I said before, I’d welcome him back into the pinstripes. Take your time Roy, and don’t forget about us.
