Manny Ramirez is deciding between the A’s, Jays and O’s

Manny Ramirez AP

No word if he’ll consider teams with longer names, but Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes.com reports that Manny Ramirez is deciding between offers from the Blue Jays, Orioles or Athletics.

Presumably they’re all minor league deals. And, of course, he has to serve a 50-game suspension at the beginning of the season, so the overall outlay for the privilege of putting Manny Ramirez on your roster will be pretty tiny.

Oh my doooooogggg…please Manny, pick the Athletics. Billy Bean loves guys who can hit and have no other up side. Stay away fro the Beaver Men!

The big surprise here is that the guy actually has options.

The Dodgers are paying him…what? 9 million this year and next whether he plays or not?

Please don’t embarrass yourself anymore manny, you’re done

I’m actually pulling for Manny to pick the A’s. The farce that they have become will have lost any element of charm by the time his 50 game suspension ends. By then the Mausoleum will be marketed as “Best Nap in the East Bay” on game days. So having Manny at bat in a random A’s snooze-fest in mid-June might just cause a semi-audible hum in the building, as opposed to the sound of crickets and snores, and ball smacking glove to the tune of “Strike Three” when the A’s are at bat.

The story I read indicates that Manny doesn’t actually have an offer from anyone. He is merely deciding if he should pursue a contract with one of those teams.

Any team that signs this malcontent cheating scumbag is scraping the bottom of the barrel.
